Our Distinguished History
We were born in 1977, in the former Nacional Bilharista, at a time when life moved more slowly. Since then, we have watched Coimbra transform from an industrial city, full of movement and noise, into the modern, cosmopolitan Coimbra we know today.
Over the years, we have kept our essence intact: genuine, welcoming and true to regional cuisine, always with the quality that made Nacional a landmark in the city's historic quarter.
Art at the Table
For over 25 years, art has held a special place at Nacional. In collaboration with Galeria Victor Costa, we regularly host temporary exhibitions by Portuguese artists, creating an atmosphere where gastronomy and artistic expression coexist naturally.
All works on display are available for purchase and, to mark each exhibition, we offer our distinguished guests an exclusive bookmark, designed as a keepsake of this experience.
